‘After the Crush’ speaks to what lingers in the Northern Rivers after the work is done — the heat, the weight of the land, and the traces left behind. Through layered gestures and shifting colour, the painting holds a sense of place shaped by both nature and human hands. It is less about what is seen, and more about what settles.
