Driving into Murwillumbah, Wollumbin would always catch my eye. Rising beyond the cane fields, it was a constant presence on the horizon—steady, familiar, and quietly reassuring. This work reflects that feeling of being held by a landscape that shapes memory, belonging and identity. Layers of colour and texture echo the stories embedded in the valley, where Country carries both personal histories and much older ones. It is a reflection on place, connection, and the enduring presence of Wollumbin watching over the land.
